Loan Equipment Terms and Conditions

The Scout Group or Unit (“the Unit”) loaning items of equipment (“the Equipment”) from Sale District Scout Council (“Sale District”) agrees that:-

  • The Unit shall collect the Equipment promptly on the date and time agreed with Sale District.
  • The Unit shall return the Equipment promptly on the data and time agreed with Sale District
  • Sale District shall not deliver or collect the Equipment.
  • The Unit shall return the Equipment clean and damage free; except where the Equipment is loaned out in a damaged condition
  • The Unit agrees to reimburse Sale District for the costs of repairing or replacing the Equipment if it is returned in a damaged condition; Repair or replacement shall be at the discretion of Sale District.
  • The Unit agrees to reimburse Sale District for the costs of cleaning the Equipment should cleaning be required upon return.
  • Where late return of, or damage to the Equipment by the Unit causes Sale District to be unable to fulfill a subsequent loan request to another group or unit, then the Unit shall, at the discretion of Sale District, be liable for charges for providing alternative equipment to the other group or unit.

Sale District reserves the right to refuse a loan request, and Sale District also reserves the right to charge a refundable deposit before agreeing to a loan request.

Call Push Response (CPR) Training Kit

  • The Unit shall wash the inflatable manikins before returning the Equipment
  • The Unit shall be responsible for providing their own antiseptic wipes

UDI Quadcopter Drone

  • The Equipment must only be flown by an adult or a supervised Explorer Scout

Tomahawk Throwing Equipment

  • The Equipment shall only be loaned to leaders who have completed a Tomahawk Throwing training course approved by the District Commissioner.
  • Tomahawk Throwing shall only take place at venues approved by the District Commissioner.
  • All Tomahawk Throwing events are subject to the District Commissioner’s approval.
  • The District Commissioner or nominated representative will attend the first Tomahawk Throwing event run by a trained leader to validate the event and leader training.

Air Rifle Shooting Equipment

  • The Equipment shall only be loaned to leaders who are qualified instructors, which means they must hold a current Scout Association approved qualification.
  • Leaders who are qualified instructors must also be approved by the District Commissioner to run Air Rifle shooting events.
  • All young people must have parental permission before being allowed to shoot
  • All adults and young people must complete a section 21 declaration (Firearms Act 1968) before being allowed to shoot
  • Air Rifle shooting shall only take place at venues approved by the District Commissioner.
  • All Air Rifle shooting events are subject to the District Commissioner’s approval.
  • The District Commissioner or nominated representative will attend the first Air Rifle shooting event run by a trained leader to validate the event and leader training.
  • All bookings will be regarded as provisional until approved by the District Commissioner.
